Read joined the Belk College of Business in 2007 and until spring 2014 was director of the Center for Real Estate, as well as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Finance.  His primary teaching responsibilities were real estate finance, development and law. His research interests include land use regulations, housing policy and public-private partnerships. At Virginia Tech he is assistant professor of real estate and property management.


Read received his doctorate in public policy from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and his juris doctor from the University of Missouri School of Law.
