BACKGROUND

John analyzes regional demographic trends for the Charlotte area and supports web communications and technology for the Institute. His work at the institute has included: research and project management, GIS, public process development, facilitation, data systems implementation, remote training and support, and specialized curriculum development in technology training. He has 20 years experience in consulting services.  Until 2008, he managed the institute’s project office for the Transportation Information Management System (TIMS), for western North Carolina.  This long-term program through the N.C. Department of Public Instruction provides state-of-the-art GIS based tools to all N.C. public school systems for transportation and planning. Through this program, he has extensive operational planning experience in public school transportation, student assignment and redistricting.  He also chairs the Davidson, N.C., Planning Board and Board of Adjustment.
