James and Deborah Fallows discuss
Our Towns: A 100,000-Mile Journey into the Heart of America

The UNC Charlotte Urban Institute welcomes authors James and Deborah Fallows for an evening of conversation. James Fallows is a long-time correspondent for The Atlantic magazine; Deborah Fallows is a linguist and writer. Their new book chronicles their travels throughout the country visiting small and mid-sized towns.

The UNC Charlotte Urban Institute is engaged in a two-year project, the Carolinas Urban-Rural Connection, funded by The Duke Endowment, that intends to bring greater understanding to the economic and social interdependence that shaped regional growth in the central Carolinas in the past century, and what encompasses intraregional connections today.
